Standing for Justice: The Black Class Action and the Fight Against Workplace Discrimination in Canada

Betty's Law

For over 50 years, Black public service workers across Canada have been subject to racial discrimination, wrongful failure to promote, intentional infliction of mental suffering, constructive dismissal, wrongful termination, negligence, and more. I am proud to be leading the Black Class Action as we call on the government to stand with Black Canadians, affirm that diversity is our strength, and to uphold the values enshrined in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These values—equality, justice, and human dignity—are the bedrock of our nation.

This fight is not just for Black employees—it is for every person who believes in the sanctity of human dignity and equality. Our collective strength lies in our unity. Together, we can forge a path toward a future where every individual, regardless of race, can thrive and contribute to our society without fear of discrimination.
